Blue Max uses a “plotted” movement system in turns with simultaneous movement followed by combat for that game turn. Damage is allocated with a unique system of damage chits that have color coded sides to represent different levels of damage. Players keep track of the status of their aircraft damage, ammunition supply and maneuvers on a specially designed easy to use record sheets. This game is the basic game, where all players fly and fight at the same altitude. This game has been converted from a board game with chits to using 1:72 scale model airplanes flying over an ol’ school “Battle Masters” plastic color hexagon map. The models are mounted to an aircraft stand & rod in which players will use to move their aircraft during the turn. Those players who would like to bring and use their WWI 1:72 scale aircraft, you are more than welcome. In order to mount the model to the stand, I use a low-temp hot glue gun to stick the metal support to the model itself. I have not had any damage to any of my models (approx 150) over the last 30 years running this game, but you accept the risk. I will not assume any liability if damage does occur.
