Ten years ago, the utopian interstellar government known as The Combine was shaken to its roots. In what became known as the Mohilar War, the government suffered catastrophic losses of sentient beings, planets, and starships. Forced to pull back on concentrating to protect its core systems, its remaining fleets and soldiers bravely attempted to limit the invasion. Then, five years ago, almost as quickly as they came, the Mohilar disappeared, leaving a devastated galaxy behind them. As citizens of the outer rim, now known colloquially as The Bleed, you are now under very limited control by The Combine. In an effort to regain some measure of control over The Bleed, The Combine has hired Local Autonomous Zone Effectuators (LAZErs) to provide law enforcement throughout the damaged worlds of The Bleed.
As one such LAZEr crew, you are tasked with investigating the remains of an interstellar liner known as Terra Nova, rescue survivors, offload the ship's cargo, and find out what disabled the ship. But the Terra Nova harbors a number of secrets, some of them dangerous. Can your crew achieve your mission, or will you wind up the latest victims of the aftermath of the Mohilar War
